Description

After the descent from Les Chapieux, enter the wild, mineral atmosphere of the Combe de la Neuva. From the Col du Grand Fond, there's a spectacular view of the Presset lake and refuge, where you'll spend the night at the foot of the legendary Pierra Menta.

The path starts at the back of the refuge on the right, to descend towards Les Chapieux.

Once you've reached the Raja chalets, you need to join the road to Cormet de Roselend. Follow it for a few moments.

The descent is short-lived, because very quickly
The path climbs back up to the left through the Combe de la Neuva in a wild, mineral atmosphere.

The combe rises to the Col du Grand Fond (2671 m), overlooking the Presset lake and refuge. In the scree slopes, the trail descends towards the refuge, for your second stopover.

What a sight, this sunset over the Pierra Menta.
With a bit of luck, the ibex will be there too!
