The adventure begins at Plan de la Lai. You're soon in the Alpine mood as you climb the impressive Crête des Gittes, with Mont Blanc in your sights. Soon the Croix du Bonhomme refuge stands out, welcoming you for the night.
From the Plan de la Lai refuge, climb towards Col de la Sauce. The path winds along the impressive Crête des Gittes to the Croix du Bonhomme refuge.
If your calves still have some energy left, put your bag down at the refuge, and continue up to the Tête Nord des Fours (2756 m). Up there, Mont-Blanc seems so close you'd think you could touch it.
If you add this little ascent of the Tête Nord, the total climb for the stage is +938 m and -323 m, because you have to get back down to the refuge.
From 04/15 to 11/01/12 : open daily.
