A walk through the hedged farmland and the Bresse habitat, taking in the peaty onion moorland (classified as a sensitive natural area), the large floodplain and the banks of the Saône.

Special features: buildings typical of the Val de Saône (the village of Boz) and the Bresse (the Grosse Grange in Ozan), the Saône and its meadows, the port of Celet, the horticultural fieldings and the onion moor (a low-lying peat bog).

Peaty moorland of les Oignons

Lande des Oignons at Boz (onion /bulb moor) A peat bog in the Saone Valley! Here at Boz the peat is acidic, a very unusual feature for this region and at the height of 200 metres above sea level. This special area is home to amphibians, dragon-flies, historical plants, wetlands and marshes. An information board on site is a very helpful guide. Entry free - Information Board at Site Entry - Allow 30 minutes.
