As you walk along, you'll discover an authentic landscape, from snow-capped peaks to turquoise lakes and green alpine pastures where herds graze. You won't soon forget these picture-postcard landscapes and your night at the foot of Pierra Menta.
This long-weekend itinerant trek offers you the perfect opportunity to disconnect and recharge your batteries in the heart of a living mountain, breathing in the rhythm of the alpine pastures.
The harmony and strength of the elements are the watchwords here, offering you a varied itinerary, shaped by a thousand colors, from fragrant flowers, to the turquoise waters of the lakes, to the immaculate white of the summits.
The adventure begins at Plan de la Lai. You're soon in the Alpine mood as you climb the impressive Crête des Gittes. Soon the Croix du Bonhomme refuge comes into view, your first stop for the night.
If your calves still have some energy left, put your bag down at the refuge, and continue up to the Tête Nord des Fours. Up there, Mont-Blanc seems so close you'd think you could touch it.
In the early morning, the descent to Les Chapieux is short-lived, as the Combe de la Neuva soon invites you into a wild, mineral atmosphere.
Arrival at the Col du Grand Fond, overlooking the Presset lake and refuge, leads the way to your second stop. What a sight, this sunset over the Pierra Menta. If you're lucky, you'll see some ibex.
The final stage offers new surprises, plunging you into the blue immensity of Lac de Roselend. After descending the Col Bresson, the return to the Plan de la Lai takes place gently through the Grande Berge and Petite Berge mountain pastures. Why not take a final break at the Plan Mia or Plan de la Lai refuges, before returning to civilization?
