Description

With your family and little ones, enter the dale of Champagny le Haut along the interpretation trail between hamlets Le Bois and Friburge. Ten thematic panels all along the way gives you a lot of information about the valley, the glaciers and moutain animals.

The heart of the Valley is a gateway to the National Park of Vanoise, was listed in 1992 for its patrimonial and landscape values. It is in winter the center of the great Champagny le Haut Nordic skiing area.

Overlooked by the Grand Bec summit at 3,399m, crossed by Doron waters, inhabited by the Gorzdérés (the name of people living up there), this high valley is a one of a kind place, endowed with typical vegetation, fauna and pastoral life.

All your senses will be greatly increased and why not, wonderful discoveries and surprises at the key.

Blanchot will go with you along the hiking path, to play with you and make you discover the richness of the Valley. If you enjoyed this trail, you can learn more about the valley at the Glacialis museum.

Refuge Bois

The refuge is located next to the Vanoise National Park, reached by car in winter and summer.At Champagny le Haut, this refuge at the entrance of the Vanoise National Park is accessible summer and winter by road (parking nearby - buses 50 places allowed). In winter, the refuge is ideally located at the start of the cross-country ski trails and at 5 km by shuttle from the ski lifts of La Plagne / Paradiski®. Sleeping in dormitories, partitioned for your comfort in "boxes" (cabins closed by curtain) of 4 single bunk beds. Duvets and pillow cases provided. It is recommended to bring your own personal cloth. Sanitary (separation Men / Women) with washbasins and individual showers. Bathroom linen not provided. If it is possible, we award a complete box even if you are 1, 2, or 3 people, without extra charge. Beautiful dining room with 80 seats (+ terrace) Possible access to a pic-nic room. It offers wheelchair access to the dining room and accessible toilets. Graceful loans of an all-way module and 3 audio guides for people with motor and visual disabilities. Accreditation by the Departmental Education of Savoie for the reception of the schoolchildren. Animation / projection / seminar room for 35/40 people, with video-projection equipment Animations offered each summer by the Vanoise National Park. The PARADISKI brand is a registered trademark owned by Compagnie des Alpes-Domaines Skiables. The refuge is located at the end of the road in winter (departure of the cross-country skiing trails) and in the centre of the valley of Champagny le Haut in summer (the road ends 3 km higher). Espace Glacialis - The Glacier Museum

Glaciers, key feature in our mountains, have shaped the valley of Champagny-le-Haut. This classified land, at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, is home to the Espace Glacialis, an interpretation center about mountain glaciers.The tools used are multiple: audiovisual, photographs, maps, models, objects to touch, etc. The Espace Glacialis aims to be a place of educational discovery, playful and modern. Two films are presented. Also available to young visitors: briefcases, games puzzles, Memory game, coloring ... This summer new temporary exhibition of the French Association of Astronomy. "Dreams of a starry night", tackles the ambiguous relationship we have with the night. Our knowledge of the sky is growing as we erase it under the megawatts of light. The exhibition is a tool that raises the question of the issues to better illuminate our cities. Complete your visit by following the glacier discovery path and walking through magnificent landscapes, in the heart of the Vanoise National Park.

Picnic area - Gorzdéré Comfort Trail

Picnic area along the footpath "les Gorzdérés".The site is equipped with tables and bins along the trail. This picnic area is located on a loop trail, which is built along a trail, accessible to all (hikers, schoolchildren, the elderly, young children and also wheelchair users with disabilities). Along the trail, 10 reading tables will help you better understand the vegetation, wildlife and pastoral life of the Champagny le Haut valley.
