Description

Interpretation trail to discover the Aigoual in an atmosphere with Mediterranean, mountain and oceanic influences

Au carrefour des influences méditerranéenne, montagnarde et océanique, ce sentier d'interprétation offre la découverte de ce site exceptionnel: panorama sur les Cévennes et la haute vallée de l'Hérault, essences forestières, acclimatation des espèces végétales. De niveau moyen, le sentier est escarpé par endroits.
Sentier de découverte Un grand programme de reboisement a été mené sur le massif de l’Aigoual à la fin du XIXe siècle, sous la houlette du forestier Georges Fabre. Celui-ci a été parmi les premiers à pressentir l’importance des essences exotiques en matière de reboisement. C’est dans ce contexte et pour étudier le comportement des espèces dans différentes conditions écologiques (altitude, régime des pluies, nature des sols, etc.) qu’un réseau de dix arboretums fut créé entre 1885 et 1903. Land-art trail Les Balcons de l'Aigoual

Immerse yourself in art and nature at Aigoual! This circuit reveals regularly renewed installations inspired by nature and the landscapes of Mont-Aigoual. A total of 12 works installed on an 8km loop.Les Balcons de l'Aigoual" land-art trail Here, artists portray the human/nature relationship and confront the climatic phenomena of the Aigoual. The works are therefore constantly evolving. Art inserted into nature returns to an essential source of artistic creation: observation and inspiration by nature. This itinerary allows visitors to cross different atmospheres and places, suggesting a sensitive and intimate approach to nature. Edition 2024: three new works on the trail: "Folies" by Elodie Cabos, "Rideau de pluie" by Yoann Crépin and "Regards" by Matthew Burton. Departure: Prat-Peyrot parking lot, Alti Aigoual station Duration: 2h30 Length: 8km Difficulty: easy Mountain bike access: possible Disabled access: possible on the ascent from Prat-Peyrot to Mont-Aigoual. The descent is on the GR6, access to which is limited to walkers. Elevation gain: 217m. Markings: a black circle and arrow on a yellow background. Access forbidden on the discovery path when snow-covered. Pets must be kept on a leash. The Aigoual summit walk extends to the Hort de Dieu arboretum, with the work of "France-Lan Lê Vu": "Avec mes yeux" ("With my eyes"). to Trèves, Lanuéjols and Saumane, communes which also feature emblematic Cévennes landscapes. These works are all accessible by footpaths or beautiful cycling routes. "Les Balcons de l'Aigoual à Trèves": two works are on offer in the pretty village of Trèves, on the banks of the Trèvezel river: "Ondulations" by Céline Pialot and "Mirage, entre chien et loup" by Sandrine Le Maguer; "Onde" by Jeanne Bourrat in Lanuéjols and "Refuges" by Steven Onghena in Saumane. Alti Aigoual resort

Family-friendly mid-mountain ski resort on the slopes of the Aigoual massif. At the Col de Prat-Peyrot, multi-activities all year round: hiking, horse-drawn carriage rides, electric-assisted mountain biking, horse-riding, accrofilet.Winter season - altitude 1440 m: 13-hectare ski area. Exposures: northwest and south. All information on opening times, resort opening hours and webcams can be found daily on the resort's website: www.stationaltiaigoual.com Ski pass sales on site. - Downhill skiing 10 runs: 4 green (Sources 1 and 2, Ermitage 2 and 3), 3 blue (Ermitage 1, Cougourles, Tindelles), 3 red (Tindelles and Cougourles). 1 Family Parc: 3 modules on the Ermitage 3 track. the natural Cougourles, a red-rated run left in its natural state for committed skiers! (Beginners not permitted). - Nordic skiing: 50 km of marked and groomed trails. More than 50 kilometers of cross-country ski trails are marked at the resort.
