Le chemin des moulins

Il date du XIII siècle. Solidaire du développement de l’ancien château, le Pont de la Pierre dessert le quartier de Chapterie. Les marchands l’empruntaient pour rejoindre en ligne droite la seigneurie de Mortemart. Par cet axe commercial médiéval étaient acheminés, depuis le littoral de Saintonge, le sel, les poissons de mer et les vins de Charente.

Dès le XIII siècle, les tanneries s’installent sur les rives du Vincou, apportant un nouvel essor économique. Chaque tannerie possédait son séchoir à peaux. Son plancher en châtaignier fut utilisé également pour le séchage des galettes de tourbe et de tanin jusqu’au début du XX siècle.

Immersive, living, interactive installations invite you to become a "Spect'Acteur" This sensitive, transmedia museum experience is an opportunity to (re)discover Giraudoux's work and career in the house where he was born. From the first floor to the 2nd floor, discover: the interactive table - the communications table - messages from the Continental - optical theaters around the war diary - red telephones and the women he loved - Ondine's lair and communicate with the Apollo of Bellac. Try the Escape Game "Secrets d'Etat(s)"! and unravel the mystery of the last moments of Jean Giraudoux's life (30 mins). * Hippolyte Jean Giraudoux (Bellac 1882- Paris 1944).

The Ô Bell Accueil restaurant is located in the center of Bellac, where Eric and Carine offer traditional cuisine, prepared on site with local products (Limousin meats...) in a family atmosphere. A catering service is also available.

Beers and wines specially selected for you, accompanied by cheese and charcuterie boards (products rooted in the heart of the region: La Bergère, Brasserie O?LIM and Butcherie Manahan). Ready-made meals are served for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, and a brunch is available on Sundays. Sports broadcasts all year round Billiards, darts and various table games for evenings out with friends, outdoor terrace.
