Circuit des fontaines et des étangs

Dans le village du Cheyroux, remarquer le bâti très présent (granges, étables, pigeonnier) ainsi qu'un lavoir, à droite, à la sortie du bourg.

Le lac Saint-Fortunat est un lieu de détente avec une plage aménagée et surveillée en période estivale et une buvette ouverte en été. Les abords sont équipés pour vous permettre de passer une journée agréable : aire de jeux pour enfants, pétanque, sentier de randonnée, ping-pong, volley-ball, parcours de santé, etc. La pêche peut également y être pratiquée six mois dans l'année.

Face à l'école, un coffre funéraire, sépulture gallo-romaine du IIème siècle, fut découverte dans un champ.

The church, originally dedicated to Saint Martial, was founded at the latest in Carolingian times, when Flavignac gave its name to the Flaviniacensis vicaria, an administrative district of the county of Limoges. Repeatedly rebuilt, enlarged and modified, the current building, while incorporating some older elements, dates back essentially to the end of the Middle Ages. It was at this time that it became a church of the Assumption of the Virgin, with Saint Martial remaining a secondary vocation. The de Pérusse family, who had settled in the château des Cars in the parish of Flavignac since the early 14th century, made a major contribution to this reconstruction, as can be seen from the coats of arms on some of the keystones. Just a stone's throw from the village, Lac Saint-Fortunat is a place to relax, with a supervised beach in summer and a refreshment bar open in summer (from 06/07 to 25/08/2024). The surrounding area is fully equipped for a pleasant day out: children's playground, pétanque, hiking trail, table tennis, volleyball, fitness trail, etc. Fishing is also available seven months a year, this year from March 23 to October 13, 2024.
