Chemin des Marchands de Parapluies

A century ago, the peddlers used to go to Aurillac (Cantal) to buy umbrellas and sell them all over France: this was the beginning of their fortune, and the origin of some of the big buildings of Saint-Julien aux Bois. The architectural heritage is the first strong point of this hike: you can see in the village an old presbytery of the 18th century rehabilitated today in town hall and some typical houses of Xaintrie. You will discover the very beautiful village of Clamensac with its old mill. 2nd highlight: the playful and lively reconstruction of the Medieval Farms of Xaintrie by an enthusiast who will plunge you into the life of the Xaintric peasants of the Middle Ages.
