Hike 10: Arbo Valley loop

2 km from L'Ile-Rousse, above Monticello, the Saint François Complex is a sports and leisure facility proposing a host of activities. There's also a municipal swimming pool where serious swimmers can train or you can just relax and enjoy the water.The 6-hectare Complexe Sportif Saint François en Balagne features a variety of facilities for a wide range of sporting activities, including the municipal indoor swimming pool with 2 pools, 1 of which is heated, accessible to children and adults. Qualified lifeguards are on hand to teach or perfect swimming skills, as well as aquagym, aquapalming and aquabike. The Monticello swimming pool is the ideal place to relax and enjoy sports in the Balagne region.

Of Baroque style, it dates from the latter half of the 17th century. The dome was added in the 18th century. The chapel was built at the initiative of a Jesuit priest who wanted to protect the population from its enemies. San Roccu day is celebrated here every year on 16 August.

De style romain, elle a été détruite au 16e siècle par le roi d’Alger et reconstruite au 17e. En 1887, une restauration a eu lieu afin de mettre en valeur son apparence extérieure. L’église est dotée d’un clocher à 3 cloches et d’un tableau classé rénové.S’ajoute à cela, d’importants travaux de restauration à l’intérieur de l’église en 2002. Deux chapelles richement décorées et exécutées en stuc font parties intégrante du patrimoine de l’église.
