Morzinette Alpine pasture from Avoriaz
Description
A nice wild escape among the blueberries and marmots.
From Jean Vuarnet walk up towards Hauts-Forts mountain until you reach "La Bec" (altitude 1770m). The starting point of the footpath called "Morzine via les Grandes Sutes" is indicated by a signpost fixed onto the rock.
1-Follow the track which rises gently next to the cliff face (hold on children's hands) and follow the round yellow ground markers leading to "Combe du Machon" (alt 1775m). Continue to "La Chaux" (alt 1750m) and "Plan du Vieux Chalet" (alt 1710m) You will certainly hear the marmots whistling and maybe see them! Another 20min downhill and you will arrive at the Morzinette chalets.
2-Morzinette (alt 1600m) is a summer mountain pasture with traditionnal chalets and pretty view over the Ardoisière Valley.
3-Then follow the signs to "Pied de la Suette". This footpath goes quite steeply downhill through the forest to the Prodains (forest path). At the Prodains, catch the cable-car back up to Avoriaz. (running every 30min from 9am to 12.30 and from1.30pm to 6.30pm)
