La Baisse des Mazes Menhir
Description
Christianised menhir
Big christianized menhir already on the Plateau of Aubrac in the commune of Lieutadès between Burguerette and Les Mazes. It is on the left side of the road coming from the direction of Lieutadès and dominates the landscape. Beautiful view on the Monts du Cantal.
It is listed on the French megaliths list.
It is not the only megalith in this region, the Planèze of Saint-Flour counts more than 10 accessible megaliths.
Next to the road to Chaudes-Aigues there is also a tumulus.
