From Han-sur-Lesse, a beautiful road winds through the plain of Éprave, surrounded by hills shaped by the Lesse river. We then join the RAVeL, where it’s a pleasure to stop at Li p’tit bambou, which offers refreshing drinks in a lush, green setting.
At Wanlin, we leave the greenway to climb towards the ridges. Just before the main road (Nationale), the route veers left towards Lavaux-Sainte-Anne. At the top of the hill, we turn right to approach the castle from the west.
In the village, a small road on the left leads us into the stunning Calestienne countryside, dotted here and there with tiennes—hillocks that have become nature reserves.
On the descent towards Lessive and Éprave, the scent of pine trees fills the winding road.
* Tiennes zijn kleine kalkstenen heuveltjes die typisch zijn voor de Calestienne.
