A wooded route that’s perfect for hot weather. At the summit, there’s a stunning 360° view of the entire Aravis massif. The descent takes you through the lush mountain pastures of Sur Frête and on to the peaceful setting of Les Frasses Jacquiers.
Head towards Tête du Danay via Danay d'en Haut. Behind the ice rink, take a path through the woods to pass through Bois de Dodes and then Les Dodes, reaching Le Macheret. Turn right towards Les Frasses Girard d'en Haut. Continue the climb towards Danay d'en Haut, following the path and then the road for 300 metres. At the car park, take the path on the left and head for Danay d'en Haut. From the chalet, climb to Tête du Danay and make a round trip to La Croix. Descend towards Le Grand-Bornand via Bois de la Pézerette, following the ridge. At Sur Frête, turn left to descend to Bois de la Pézerette. From there, head to Frasses Jacquier then Le Macheret. Return to Le Grand-Bornand via the path taken on the way out.
