The Head of the Danay by Le Grand-Bornand

Description

A wooded route that’s perfect for hot weather. At the summit, there’s a stunning 360° view of the entire Aravis massif. The descent takes you through the lush mountain pastures of Sur Frête and on to the peaceful setting of Les Frasses Jacquiers.

Follow the signs for Tête du Danay. Behind the ice rink, take a forest trail through Bois de Dodes, then continue through Les Dodes to reach Le Macheret. Then turn towards Le Buclar when you reach Danay d'en Bas. At Le Buclar, follow the signs for La Rotagne, then continue towards Tête du Danay. Descend towards Le Grand-Bornand via the Bois de la Pézerette, following the ridge. At Sur Frête, turn lefty and descend through the Bois de la Pezerette. From there, continue to Frasses Jacquiers, then Le Macheret. Return to Le Grand-Bornand via the trail taken on the way upt.
