La Boucle de Gourteau, looped hiking trail

Description

This beautiful and long hike, which partly follows the Agout river, offers many viewpoints on the Sidobre and the plains of Castres, passing through the medieval village of Burlats, the ruins in Gourteau and along the fountain path.
Time 5.5 hours - Distance 19,5 km

Romanesque architectural treasures on the floor of the valley.
In Burlats, the Counts of Trencavel built a sumptuous residence away from major axes, hidden in a fold of the Agoût valley. Real Treasure, perfectly preserved Romanesque architecture which is rare for a civil building, this pavilion is named after Adelaide, a countess with violet eyes who was sung and courted by the famous troubadours Arnaud de Mareuil and Alfonso II of Aragon. You will enjoy beautiful views, but beautiful climbs as well.

Missegle - the natural fibres workshop

Missegle is a company proud to uphold the traditional and artisanal expertise of textile craftsmanship, promoting the ‘Made in France’ label. We are convinced that the quality of our products stems from the passion and experience of our artisans. However, we do not rest on our historical expertise: we also invest in the latest technologies to continually improve our mastery of the art of knitting. We have been using 3D knitting since 2013 thanks to our Shima Sekei machines. This full-knitting technique allows us to produce a jumper in a single piece, using a single thread, resulting in a garment knitted in three dimensions without unnecessary seams, offering exceptional comfort. At Missegle, passing on our expertise is a core value. We are proud to preserve traditional techniques such as mending and hand-repairing, and to pass them on to future generations. Atelier Missegle has held the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ (Living Heritage Company) accreditation since 2016, thanks to its exceptional skills, which have been carefully preserved. Direct sales in our workshop shop from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm.
