Partez sur les traces du précurseur de l'Impressionnisme, en suivant les lutrins implantés sur un circuit de Virieu s/Bourbre à Balbins en passant par La Côte-Saint-André, à la découverte des paysages, villages et scènes de vie qui ont inspiré le peintre.Le peintre Johan Bartold Jongkind né et formé à la peinture en Hollande devint l'élève d'Eugène Isabey et l'ami des plus grands peintres français du XIXème siècle. Après sa Hollande natale, après Honfleur, après Paris, c'est la lumière de nos paysages et la forme de nos vallons qui devinrent les sujets de ses dernières œuvres. Il venait d'un autre pays au relief totalement différent, avait peint de nombreux paysages dans d'autres régions de France ; il trouva ici de nouvelles sources d'inspiration pour poursuivre son œuvre. Lorsque l'on sait que Claude Monet dit à propos de Johan Bartold Jongkind "c'est à lui que je dois l'éducation définitive de mon œil" on peut mesurer la qualité du regard qu'il posa sur ces paysages. Ce circuit vous propose, à partir des sites où travailla le peintre d'apprécier l'originalité des paysages de la plaine de la Bièvre et de la vallée de la Bourbre. Au fil de 14 étapes passant par La Côte-Saint-André, Balbins, Virieu, Blandin et Châbons, des reproductions de tableaux, des citations et des éléments biographiques, soulignent la beauté des sites patrimoniaux à travers la lumière et la poésie des œuvres. The secrets of chocolate have been running in the family since that. Franck and his team are prized chocolate makers and bakers in France. Nowadays Maison Jouvenal is employing 18 people, but it remains as artisan chocolatier. Everything is homemade! Le Petit Berlioz presents you a choice of chocolate bars in 31 different flavors.

The house where he was born, built around 1680 in the heart of the town, has been a listed monument since 1942. Today, it is a museum dedicated to the memory and work of this composer, considered one of the greatest exponents of European Romanticism. The museum recreates the artist's world: discover his loves, his family, listen to his music and enjoy the tranquility of his garden. Interactive systems allow young and old alike to discover how the composer's work has been interpreted over the centuries. Temporary exhibitions, free concerts, conferences and workshops in collaboration with the Berlioz Festival punctuate the year and make the walls resonate!
