Description

Discover a magical wilderness on a technical itinerary. At the heart of the Passy Nature Reserve, Lac de Pormenaz is the ideal playground for an unforgettable summer hike.

From Passy Plaine-Joux, take the track to Barmus and then to Les Ayères des Pierrières, where you'll head for Chalets du Souay.

After a short descent to the torrent, climb up via the Chorde (ladder passage) to the splendid Lac de Pormenaz, an ideal place for a break.

Then return to Chalets du Souay via Argentières (some tricky sections).

Continue your descent to the Châtelet d'Ayères refuge (accommodation, catering) and the Lac Vert balconies to reach the starting point at Passy Plaine-Joux.

Mountain lakes are fragile ecosystems. It's best not to swim in them. The addition of organic matter or chemicals (sunscreen, buoys, etc.) has a profound effect on the way they function.

The Passy nature reserve is a protected and regulated area. Dogs, even on a leash, are prohibited, as are motor vehicle traffic, fires and overflights, particularly by drones. Bivouacs are permitted from 7pm to 9am.
