Make sure you visit the Bout du Lac Nature Reserve and its medieval tower, close to your route. Approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hrs walk with no height difference!
Counter-clockwise route
From Doussard, cross the D1508 (take care). You'll pass close to the Bout du lac nature reserve. This reserve has been developed with respect for the environment and the landscape, and is well worth a visit. You'll find magnificent, wild views over the lake, as well as educational panels. Head for the architecturally preserved hamlet of Verthier, to climb up to the Col de la Forclaz (major paragliding departure point). Follow the GR Pays Tour du Lac d'Annecy, then pass Rochers Roux towards Col de l'Aulp. Reach your gîte (1243m) equipped with a few chains.
