Varan from le Coudray

Description
A pleasant, accessible family hike offering aerial views of the Arve valley and the Fiz mountains. The sunny terrace of the Chalets de Varan offers a unique panorama of Mont Blanc.
From the Coudray parking lot, take the carriageway towards Varan.
The climb is steady and not very technical.
After leaving the forest, a narrower path leads off to the right towards the refuge (direct route).
You can also continue on the track that also leads to the refuge, passing a paragliding launch site (a little longer).
At the summit, take time to contemplate the landscape around you. You're just below the Aiguille de Varan, and the panorama opens out over the entire Arve valley, the Mont-Blanc Massif, Mont-Joly and the Aravis mountains.
Return by the same route.
