CYCL - MONTÉE DU COL DE MENTÉ DEPUIS SAINT-BÉAT-LEZ

Col de Mente

Description

Average gradient: 9.1% – Maximum gradient: 11% – Summit altitude: 1,349 m.
The gradient of this 2nd-category pass is steep and consistent. It is a demanding climb, partly through woodland with numerous hairpin bends. This side of the pass is the most arduous.

Right from the start, as you leave Saint-Béat-Lez, the gradient offers very little respite, fluctuating steadily between 8 per cent and 11 per cent for most of the route. After Boutx, a series of superb hairpin bends follow one after the other, and the gradient steepens further over the final five hundred metres.
