Would you like to explore the various places of interest and secret views in and around our villages without expending too much energy? Then try out one of our new battery-assisted touring bikes, an eco-friendly mode of transport that is accessible to all.
This route offers a little tour of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe, between the lively centre and the peace and quiet of the outskirts, between the traditional architecture and that of the tourism industry, between the activities of the olden days and those of today…basically, the history of a village that has become a resort.
Start at the Tourist Office and take the road towards Flumet. At Les Biolles, take the little road which leads between chalets and a residence and which leads to the bottom of the Reguet drag lift. Then go left on the road towards Les Saisies. When you reach the place known as Le Cheloup, take the path that goes back down to the village.

The church of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe, which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Nativity, was built between 1876 and 1886 to replace the original 14th century church. Its set of bells and stations of the cross are the building’s main attractions.During its reconstruction, the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe retained its original appearance whilst increasing in size. Indeed, it presents an eclectic façade featuring a diverse range of architectural styles. Inside, the building is divided by granite pillars, wide beams painted in light colours and, at the end, there is a wide, light-filled chancel. Part of the furniture from the old church has been retained : a cabinet containing the holy oils, baptismal font, wooden statues etc. The windows and, above all, the stations of the cross add to the multi-coloured interior. The latter feature is quite unique : installed at the end of the 1950s, it was created by M. Cart, from the Annecy-based workshop Le Cyclope, on ceramic tiles painted in a more contemporary style. Also note the famous bulb-shaped bell tower which boasts a set of ten bells.
