For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.
1/ At the leisure centre. Take the path around the stadium and cross the leisure center. Leave the path when it bends at right-angles to the left along the barbed-wire fence, and turn right onto the path running alongside the river as far as the Capartel bridge.
2/ Cross to the other bank and turn right. Follow the path. Before the steep slope, take the dirt track to the left, then to the right to join the D999 A. On the left, follow this road for about 250 m, then take the stony path that descends to the left into the valley. After the EDF transformer substation, the path splits in two, so take the right-hand path to the dam.
3/ Climb the path on the right to reach the wood overlooking the lake (viewpoint over the lake). In the wood, turn right into a clearing to join the D999À Follow the road to the left for a few metres, then cross it to take a path to the right. Follow this path which catches up with a larger track which you take to the right until you reach a grove of trees on the left.
4/ Turn left along the hillside path (view of the town of Arlanc and the Dore valley). Turn right on a wide track that descends to a tarmac road. You come to a house. Turn left to another tarmac track (opposite a barn) and turn left again to return to the starting point.
