Le bois du Télégraphe, Captain Hugot-Derville's grave... He rests, as he wished, where he stopped the enemy.
where he stopped the enemy....
On September 5, 1914, near Penchard, the Moroccan Brigade launched an assault on the Bois du Télégraphe, a wooded hill held by the Germans. The fighting was extremely deadly; Captain Hugot-Derville, who had been knocked unconscious, was killed with his revolver drawn. He rests, as he wished, where he fell.
