From the countryside to industry... This region of Namur is an open land, dotted with hedged fields and vast crops, one of the province's granaries. We enter this cheerful countryside via a most pleasant road. At the top of the valley, the vast landscape reveals itself, where a few typical farms defy time. If you close your eyes, you can still hear the sound of carts laden with wheat... Shortly after Soye, the route continues to play with the hills. At the edge of Moustier, it leaves the countryside behind to reach Jemeppe-sur-Sambre and the industry of the Sambre basin. A river that is closely linked to the world of inland waterway transport, a legacy that dates back more than ten centuries. The RAVeL is also this old towpath used by horses to pull the heavy boats.
