This walk will introduce you to the different facets of Floreffe Abbey in the Sambre Valley. Since the 12th century, Floreffe Abbey, perched on a rocky spur, has dominated the town and the Sambre River. Until the French Revolution, the site was occupied by the Premonstratensian Order. From the early 19th century, a major diocesan college opened its doors. Over time, the school opened new departments. Nine centuries of architecture coexist here. A guided tour of the site will introduce you to them, including the impressive abbey church with its beautiful Baroque choir stalls. The walk takes you around the abbey, which you'll have the opportunity to glimpse in the distance several times. After the effort, come the comfort of tasting local products. The old mill-brewery will welcome you for a well-deserved tasting.
