Circuit VTT n°35 - Saint Sixte le lac

An exceptional ensemble typical of 18th-century Dauphiné architecture. Like an "island in the countryside", the château is accessed by a drawbridge over the moat.Admire the large-sloped roofs, the chapel and its secrets, the grand staircases and the unique décor, with furniture and interior decor reflecting 700 years of local history. The decor and woodwork are the work of Grenoble cabinetmakers Hache, as is the parquet flooring in the grand salon, a perfect 100 m² square. Permanent exhibition: Museum of 18th and 19th century woodworking tools: the largest private collection of tools from this period. Documentary films: - "Les Merveilles de l'ordinaire" explores the flora and fauna of Château de Longpra through the seasons. - Les savoir-faire des artisans" presents the process of restoring paintings: a canvas by Pierre de Cortone, "La sainte Famille", and two paintings by the 18th-century French school.
