As the starting point for many hikes and trails, the Refuge du Folly offers you the chance to discover the extraordinary flora and fauna of our mountains. It’s accessible to all types of hikers, from the most experienced to those just starting out.This hike is suitable for all types of hikers, from the most experienced to those just starting out, and will allow you to discover the extraordinary flora and fauna of our mountains. Accommodations are available in dorms or private rooms (duvets and pillows provided—just bring your own silk sheet), or even in tents. Half-board options are available, along with packed lunches, appetizer platters (including a new vegan tapas trio), refreshing drinks, … as well as local daily specials (diots, farcement, croziflette, fondue…) and homemade pastries (blueberry tart, lemon tart, sweet potato tart, chocolate-coconut fondant…). Nestled against the slopes of the Criou, facing the Tuet and the ridges of the Dents d’Oddaz, the refuge can be the destination for a day hike (to the famous Lac des Chambres, for example, or to the Pointe de Bellegarde for the more adventurous), or a base camp for routes more akin to mountaineering (Pointe des Avoudrues). A veritable balcony overlooking the Giffre and Arve valleys, you’ll never forget its sunsets!
