Description


Desde as proximidades do farol da Porta construído em 1918 e que toma o nome do canal entre a ilha do Faro e a ilha Sul, o chamado Freu da Porta, na ponta Canaval podemos fazer-nos uma ideia do que ocorre no meio marinho, nestes ecossistemas submarinos que mais riqueza, biodiversidade e valor albergam no Parque um dos motivos que motivaram a declaração das ilhas como Parque Nacional. O 86 % da superfície do Parque é marítima dando conta da importância que tem o meio marinho.

Descobriremos a variedade dos fundos marinhos, a zoneamento litoral, a ardora, a influência das marés e a presença de mamíferos marinhos.
