Pilier du bras nord du transept de l'Eglise Saint-Pierre Chapelle Rompue Protestante XVème siècle

PilierChapelleRompueProtestante-FENIOUX-Jean-PierreBASTY

Description

Pillar of the north arm of the transept of Saint Peter's Church Chapel Rumpus Protestant 15th century :

In 1525 'Renaissance period', François RATAULT, lord of the Braudière de FENIOUX, had a funeral chapel of great ornamental richness built against the north side of the Saint-Pierre church, in which he was buried along with several Protestant nobles. Of this edifice, never completed and badly destroyed because of a probable local quarrel between Catholics and Protestants (religious war) at the end of the 15th century, only sumptuous remains remain: "the broken chapel".
