An old pot oven modernised by Mister Pontet, the factory has become a major exhibition venue in Niortais since 1998.
Magnesium pottery is an old industry whose first traces of activity date back to the Neolithic. The first known workshop was born at the beginning of the 19th century and the last farm in 1980. Magné made utilitarian objects (milk pots, pheasants, coffee pots, mogette pots) and decorative (flower pots in the form of "Tours" and "Paris"), as well as devotional articles sold to the pilgrims of Sainte-Macrine.
