Croix hosannière d'Amuré

A XVth century triumphal cross, listed in 1889 and tombs from the XVIIth and XIXth centuries can be seen in the old cemetery which is next to the parish church. What was a triumphal cross for ? On the Sunday before Easter, the priest read out the gospel celebrating the entrance of Jesus to Jerusalem. The crowd shouted "Hosanna" and spread branches on the lectern to the West.
