The site includes on the one hand an artificial pond, of particular ornithological and odonatological interest, and on the other hand an old slag heap largely covered by birch-based afforestation, where several rare tree species have recently been recorded (bugs and ladybirds). There are also areas of wasteland and small wetlands that support a diverse entomofauna.
