Fort de Socoa
Description
This fort built from 1627 and reshaped by Vauban was intended to insure the protection of the port of Socoa and the bay of Saint Jean de Luz. A first crossed drawbridge, we enter within the Fort. The second drawbridge completes the defensive device between the tower and the residential buildings of the garrison. To protect it, it was necessary to build a military fort.
