Description
Opposite the town hall and close to the church is the pediment.
Basque pelota is a sport that is still widely practised in Basque culture today.
As in all Basque villages, Sare has its own pelota court.
There have been four of them, two of which have disappeared.
The oldest one dates from 1803, was raised in 1902 and restored many times between 1919 and 1999.
The new pediment, dating from 1977, has two walls, for playing rebot (one of the many specialities of the pelota).
