A place of worship existed as early as the 10th century in Urrugne, the building was destroyed at the beginning of the 16th century. The church was completely rebuilt around 1550 in Renaissance style. It is also influenced by the cultural architecture of Guipuzcoa.
The porch bell tower, 45 m high, is decorated on its southern façade with a sundial with the motto "Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat", "Every hour wounds the last kill". The interior is worth the detour for its grandeur and its choir decorated with tapestries of the monks of Belloc. It has been registered on the inventory of Historic Monuments since 1925.
