In 1860 a Gothic style church replaced a small Romanesque church. Later it had to be completely restored because of the danger of collapse of its main vaults. The architects decided to open large rectangular bays 5.50 m high, but it soon became clear that the light thus spread was too "raw". This new construction was inaugurated in 1962. In 1967, the municipality decided to equip the building with stained-glass windows. The project was entrusted to a master glass-maker newly initiated to this technique, Louis Francheo, who used the creations of the artist Emile Wachter. The latter chose a limited number of simple and frank colours, in particular the blue known as "de Miramont", which he had melted specially for these stained glass windows in his workshop in Saint Just.
