Cocumont

Description

Cocumont, perched on the top of a hill, dominates the Garonne valley. The village offers visitors an excellent panorama of the surrounding countryside and vineyards. Cocumont is nevertheless the first wine-growing commune in the department! Adept of hikes, you will be able to walk along the numerous footpaths of the village. Stroll through hills, woods and vineyards to enjoy the panoramas, representative of the landscapes of Lot-et-Garonne.
Behind the Marmandais cooperative cellar is an old Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. Listed as a Historic Monument, the church of Saint-Jean-de-Vidailhac is said to have been built on the remains of a Carolingian place of worship. Enter the building through the impressive portal pierced in the south façade, and admire the triumphal arch of the church and its capitals.
