Chapelle de Vénès

Many people still have, somewhere in their car, a medal of St. Christopher, patron saint of travellers. At Tonneins, we go even further in the tradition! Every 15 August, in the chapel of Vénès, a mass is celebrated and gives rise to the blessing of 2CV, Panhard, De Dion Bouton, Peugeot and other marvellous mechanical antiques! What could be more normal at the bottom, since it is the national chapel of old vehicles. The pilgrimage is worthy of this distinction: several hundred vehicles meet there, with parades, retro horns honking, enthronements to the Tonneins ham brotherhood, fireworks and other festivities!
