In the heart of Chalosse, come visit this big neo-Gothic church (dating from 1875) featuring ancient and contemporary works of art, as well as a Romanesque chapel. The monks renovated that former Maylis sanctuary in 1980. In this place where time stands still, you can discover artisanal products crafted by monks (who have been here since 1946), including their famous herbal tea made from native perennial pepperweed which possesses detoxifying properties and their traditional polishing waxes. These products are branded “Monastic”, which guarantees the quality of products made exclusively by monks. They are available for purchase at the shop and online. A bucolic stroll through the monks’ park and gardens is sure to delight you.
Bonus: The abbey overlooks the scenery of Chalosse. On clear days, you can even see the Pyrenees in the distance.
