Cantenac's Saint Didier Church is an unusual edifice, nestled in the heart of the Medoc countryside. It was built on the ruins of a former church, in 1769.The church's façade features three triangular pediments, with an entry to the nave and neoclassical square bell tower. Taken as a whole, the building is a fine example of the baroque architectural style. The church is classified as a historical monument, alongside a few of its remarkable period artefacts.
Inside, visitors discover Italian-inspired decor: a three-aisle nave supported by three columns with Tuscan capitals. Other curiosities include: an elegant marble stoup, two large eighteenth century paintings (The Adoration of the Magi and the Presentation in the Temple), baptismal fonts in marble and painted wood, and a marble statue of Saint John the Baptist.
