Village de Sauternes
Description
A small commune of just over 700 inhabitants, nestled in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, whose pretty church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens dates from the 11th century. Its Romanesque apse is listed as a Historic Monument. Sauternes town hall is the only town hall to have a virgin on its pediment above the motto "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity". The building was once a religious school.
