Remains of the rural home inaugurated in 1954 by Raymond Bonnot, former mayor of Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle, this tower bears a fresco by the ceramic painter René Buthaud. At the end of 2007, the rural hostel of Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle was demolished due to major damage to the building. Rehabilitation work on the central tower has allowed the Buthaud fresco to be preserved and today the tower is integrated into the urban space.
René Buthaud, born in Saintes in 1886, first studied at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, then went to Paris where he followed the
courses at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and the École des Beaux-Arts.
