Porte Rendesse

Situated at the foot of the suburb occupied by rich merchants on their way to the Franciscan monastery, and opposite the Thuron suburb, the Rendesse Gate has kept its original appearance intact: the inner and outer arches have a template offset allowing the wooden leaves to be blocked. The second port was established here in the middle of the 17th century, thus causing the displacement of the market. The widening of the course of the Garonne in the 19th century definitively diverted the river from direct contact with the city.
