Prieuré Saint-Sauveur

The will of curettage following the classification of the church has left the Benedictine monastery only part of its southern wing, the object of the intervention of a voluntary workcamp of young Macarians since 1968. The old refectory, the upper cells and the lower cellars have thus regained a cultural use. Archaeological investigations have identified a Gallo-Roman settlement and an earlier monastery. They have also confirmed the use of the rampart as a retaining wall, allowing the establishment of an artificial terrace and thus redeeming the steep slope of the original rock.
