The ferruginous waters of Cours attracted many sick people who drank this water as early as the 18th century. The place had a mill where people took the water with the help of a hoof to drink it. The name of the place comes from the mill wheel "La Rode" in patois and the festival which for a long time launched the spa season was the festival of "l'esclop" the hoof.
The enlarged and converted mill became the property of four doctors. The authorization of exploitation dates from March 09, 1840.
Doctor Roumat, the owner of the premises, opened the thermal establishment around 1860. The influx of the curists is at its highest around 1880, the place is missing and the establishment is resold.
