The church was built at the end of the 19th century on the site of the earlier Romanesque building, by the architect Bonnore de Lesparre, who designed most of the churches built at that time in the canton. This building, dedicated to Saint Romain, is largely financed by donations from the villagers. Close to the restored bell tower and entrance porch, the central square of the village retains the porch of the former presbytery, contemporary of the church, reconverted since 1950.
