The commandery was built in 1160 thanks to donations made to the order of the temple by noble families of the Bazadais. It includes up to 11 towers, walls, ditches, the church of Saint-Martin, the presbytery and a bastide. This tower is the last cylindrical tower on the facade of the commandery. Transformed into a dwelling house, it can be seen from the road that crosses the village, opposite the church.
