Supplied by the Canal des Landes which flows into the estey of La Hume, the port of La Hume saw the establishment of a few sailors' huts in the second half of the 19th century.
The transformations of the port led in 1959 to the creation of a central quay on which 27 oyster farms were established, and a dock which became the current marina in 1984-1985.
Today, the port of La Hume, with its beautiful and large beach lined with tamarisk trees, is a popular place for holidays and walks in a harmonious setting.
