Built in 1866, the church of Saint-Gervais houses a Romanesque baptismal font from the priory of Comprian. The remarkable work of this religious building is the baptismal font carved in stone, notably decorated with a bull, a lion, an eagle and an angel.
The chapel and the priory of Comprian probably date, according to the chronicles of Saintonge, from the 9th century and were a place of passage on the road to Santiago de Compostela in the 11th century. Until the 14th century, the church housed the tomb of the captains of Buch.
