Originally, the church may have served as a chapel for the castle of Castelmoron. In 1875, the building was almost rebuilt. The nave and the lower sides, with particularly well-kept capitals with vegetal motifs, are in a very harmonious neo-gothic style. The gabled bell tower, modified by the piercing of a rose, recalls the medieval origin of the church.
The cemetery, once adjoining, has been abandoned and a private house is now built on its site; the inhabitants of Castelmoron d'Albret are now buried in neighbouring communes.
